أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عُمَرَ الْمُقْرِئُ ابْنُ الْحَمَّامِيِّ بِبَغْدَادَ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ، أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَلْمَانَ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ الْعَوَقِيُّ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ، عَنْ بُدَيْلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحَمْسَاءِ، قَالَ: بَايَعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَبَقِيَتْ لَهُ بَقِيَّةٌ، فَوَعَدْتُهُ أَنْ آتِيَهُ بِهَا فِي مَكَانِهِ ذَلِكَ، قَالَ: فَنَسِيتُهُ يَوْمِي ذَاكَ، وَالْغَدَ، فَأَتَيْتُهُ فِي الْيَوْمِ الثَّالِثِ وَهُوَ فِي مَكَانِهِ، فَقَالَ لِي: " يَا فَتًى، لَقَدْ شَقَقْتَ عَلَيَّ، أَنَا هَهُنَا مِنْ ثَلَاثٍ أَنْتَظِرُكَ ". هَكَذَا قَالَ فِي عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abi al-Hamsa (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I made a transaction with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and something of his remained owed by me, so I promised that he (peace and blessings be upon him) should stay at that place and I would come right back (with it). He said: I forgot for two days in a row and came on the third day. He (peace and blessings be upon him) was present at that place, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O young man! You have put me to hardship; I have been waiting for you for three days."
