وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، أنبأ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، فَذَكَرَهُ بِإِسْنَادِهِ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " وَمَا يَزَالُ الرَّجُلُ يَصْدُقُ وَيَتَحَرَّى الصِّدْقَ حَتَّى يَكْتُبَ عِنْدَ اللهِ صِدِّيقًا "، وَقَالَ فِي آخِرِهِ: " وَمَا يَزَالُ الرَّجُلُ يَكْذِبُ وَيَتَحَرَّى الْكَذِبَ حَتَّى يُكْتَبَ عِنْدَ اللهِ كَذَّابًا " رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَحْيَى، وَأَخْرَجَاهُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ شَقِيقٍ.
Al-A'mash (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates with his chain: "A person continues to speak the truth and to strive for truthfulness until he is written among the truthful with Allah." And in another narration it says: "A person continues to lie and to strive for lying until he is counted among the liars with Allah."
