Sayyiduna Nu'man bin Bashir narrates from Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty: "O you who believe, turn to Allah in sincere repentance" [Surah al-Tahrim: 8], that he said: It is that the servant, after committing a sin, does not commit that sin again.
