أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بِشْرَانَ بِبَغْدَادَ، أنبأ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّفَّارُ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أنبأ مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَجُلٌ: أَوْصِنِي يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَالَ: " لَا تَغْضَبْ "، قَالَ الرَّجُلُ: فَفَكَّرْتُ حِينَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا قَالَ، فَإِذَا الْغَضَبُ يَجْمَعُ الشَّرَّ كُلَّهُ.
Humayd bin Abd al-Rahman narrates from a man among the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that a man said to him (peace and blessings be upon him): Give me some advice. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not get angry." The man said: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said this, I reflected, and (I realised that) anger gathers all evil.
