(a) Abu al-Zubayr, who was the muezzin of Bayt al-Maqdis, said that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: When you give the iqamah, say it quickly.
(b) Al-Asma'i said: 'Al-hadhm' means 'al-hadr' (speed), that is, avoiding prolonging it.
(c) It is reported from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he would give the adhan slowly and say the iqamah quickly.
