أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدُّورِيُّ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، أنبأ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدِمَ مِنْ بَعْضِ مَغَازِيهِ فَأَتَتْهُ جَارِيَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ، فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنِّي كُنْتُ نَذَرْتُ إِنْ رَدَّكَ اللهُ سَالِمًا، أَنْ أَضْرِبَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ بِالدُّفِّ، فَقَالَ: " إِنْ كُنْتِ نَذَرْتِ، فَاضْرِبِي "، قَالَ: فَجَعَلَتْ تَضْرِبُ، فَدَخَلَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ وَهِيَ تَضْرِبُ، ثُمَّ دَخَلَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ فَأَلْقَتِ الدُّفَّ تَحْتَهَا، وَقَعَدَتْ عَلَيْهِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَخَافُ مِنْكَ يَا عُمَرُ ".
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Buraydah narrates from his father (Sayyiduna Buraydah, may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned from one of his military expeditions, and a black slave girl came to him and said: "O Prophet of Allah! I vowed that if Allah brought you (peace and blessings be upon him) back safe and sound, I would play the daff before you (peace and blessings be upon him)." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you have vowed, then fulfil it." The narrator said: She began to play the daff. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) came in, and she kept playing. Then Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came in, and she put the daff down and sat on it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Umar! Satan fears you."
