أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْقَطَّانُ بِبَغْدَادَ، أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، أنبأ أَبُو الْمِنْهَالِ نَصْرُ بْنُ أَوْسٍ الطَّائِيُّ كُوفِيٌّ ثِقَةٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ وَلَدِ الضَّبُعِ، فَقَالَ: ذَاكَ الْفُرْعُلُ نَعْجَةٌ مِنَ الْغَنَمِ.
Abdullah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I asked Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) about the young of the hyena, and he said: The young of the hyena is just like the young of a sheep.
