It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked what the muhrim may kill. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The snake, the scorpion, the mouse; he may drive the crow away by throwing at it but not kill it; the rabid dog, the kite, and the aggressive beast of prey."
We have narrated in (the Book of) Hajj the hadith of Ibn al-Musayyib from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about killing the snake and the wolf, and the hadith of Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas and others about killing the gecko.
