أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ هُوَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا يَحْيَى، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ: كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ فَاشْتَرَكْنَا فِي الْجَزُورِ سَبْعَةٌ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ: الْبَقَرَةُ يُشْتَرَكُ فِيهَا؟ قَالَ: " مَا هِيَ إِلَّا مِنَ الْبُدْنِ ". وَحَضَرَ جَابِرٌ الْحُدَيْبِيَةَ فَقَالَ: اشْتَرَكْنَا كُلُّ سَبْعَةٍ فِي بَدَنَةٍ فَنَحَرْنَا يَوْمَئِذٍ سَبْعِينَ بَدَنَةً. رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ.
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for Hajj and Umrah, and seven of us would share in one camel. A man asked him: "Can one share in a cow?" He said: "It is counted among the sacrificial camels (budn)." And Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) was present at Hudaybiyah; he said: Every seven of us shared in one camel, and that day we slaughtered seventy camels.
