أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ، أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ السَّيْرَافِيُّ، ثنا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثنا سَلَّامُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ، عَنْ عَائِذِ اللهِ، عَنْ أَبِي دَاوُدَ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: مَا هَذِهِ الْأَضَاحِيُّ؟ قَالَ: " سُنَّةُ أَبِيكُمْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ ". قَالُوا: مَا لَنَا فِيهَا مِنَ الْأَجْرِ؟ قَالَ: " بِكُلِّ قَطْرَةٍ حَسَنَةٌ ".
Zayd bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Companions asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about these sacrifices, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is the sunnah of your father Ibrahim (peace be upon him)." The Companions asked: What reward will we receive in the Hereafter? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "For every drop of blood, a good deed."
