Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We fought in the expedition of Jaysh al-Khabat, and our commander was Sayyiduna Abu Ubaydah (may Allah be pleased with him). We felt severe hunger, and the sea cast a dead fish onto the shore; we had never seen such a large fish. Its name was al-Anbar. We kept eating it for fifteen days. Sayyiduna Abu Ubaydah (may Allah be pleased with him) set up one of its bones, and a rider passed beneath it.
(b) Abu al-Zubayr (may Allah have mercy on him) heard Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) say: Sayyiduna Abu Ubaydah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Eat. When we came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), we mentioned it before him (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Eat the provision that Allah has brought out for you; indeed, if you have any with you, feed us too." Some of it was presented to him (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) ate it.
