Amr bin Shu'ayb narrates from his father, from his grandfather (may Allah be pleased with him), that a Bedouin who was called Abu Tha'labah (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): "Give me a ruling about my bow." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Eat whatever your bow brings back to you." He said: "Whether slaughtered or not slaughtered?" Then he said: "Even if it stays out of my sight?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Even if it stays out of your sight, as long as it has not gone bad, or you do not see in it the mark of an arrow other than yours." He said: "Give me a ruling about the vessels of the Magians: may they be used when one is compelled to?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Wash them and then use them."
