أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَلْمَانَ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى، ثنا أَبُو حُذَيْفَةَ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: صَالَحَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ يَوْمَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ عَلَى ثَلَاثَةِ أَشْيَاءَ: عَلَى أَنَّ " مَنْ أَتَاهُ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ رَدَّهُ إِلَيْهِمْ، وَمَنْ أَتَاهُمْ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ لَمْ يَرُدُّوهُ، وَعَلَى أَنْ يَدْخُلَهَا مِنْ قَابِلٍ فَيُقِيمَ بِهَا ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَلَا يَدْخُلَهَا إِلَّا بِجُلُبَّانِ السِّلَاحِ السَّيْفِ وَالْقَوْسِ وَنَحْوِهِ، فَجَاءَ أَبُو جَنْدَلٍ يَحْجِلُ فِي قُيُودِهِ فَرَدَّهُ إِلَيْهِمْ ". رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Bara' (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made the Treaty of al-Hudaybiyyah with the polytheists on three matters: "1. Whoever of the polytheists comes to you, you will return him; 2. Whoever of the Muslims comes to the disbelievers of Makkah will not be returned; 3. And you will enter Makkah the following year and stay there for three days, and you will come with the weapons, the sword and the like, in their sheaths." When Sayyiduna Abu Jandal (may Allah be pleased with him) came walking in his shackles, he (peace and blessings be upon him) returned him to the disbelievers.
