(a) Ja'far bin Muhammad narrates from his father that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed Zuhr and Asr at Arafah with one adhan and two iqamahs, and prayed no voluntary prayer between them; and he prayed Maghrib and Isha at Muzdalifah with one adhan and two iqamahs, and prayed nothing between them. (b) Imam Abu Dawud (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Hatim bin Isma'il narrated this hadith with a connected chain within the long hadith, and Muhammad bin Ali al-Ju'fi agreed with Hatim on its chain, from Ja'far, from his father, from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), except that he said: He (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed Maghrib and Isha with one adhan and one iqamah. (c) Imam Abu Dawud (may Allah have mercy on him) said that Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Hatim erred in this long hadith. (d) The Shaykh said: Hafs bin Ghiyath's narration from Ja'far is also like Hatim's narration.
