Dhu al-Jawshan (may Allah be pleased with him), a man of the Dibab tribe, said: I brought the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) a foal of my mare after he had finished with the people of Badr. That mare was called al-Qarha'. I said: "O Muhammad, I have brought you the foal of al-Qarha' so that you may take it." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have no need of it, but if you wish, I will exchange it for you for (one of) the coats of mail of Badr." I said: I would not exchange it today even for a slave. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then I have no need of it."
