أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الْمِهْرَجَانِيُّ، نا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ الْمُزَكِّي، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثنا ابْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ مَالِكٌ: " لَمْ يَزَلِ الصُّبْحُ يُنَادَى بِهَا قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ فَأَمَّا غَيْرُهَا مِنَ الصَّلَوَاتِ فَإِنَّا لَمْ نَرَهَا يُنَادَى بِهَا إِلَّا بَعْدَ أَنْ يَحِلَّ وَقْتُهَا ".
Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) says: The adhan for the morning prayer was always given before dawn. As for the other prayers, their adhan was given only when their prescribed time had begun.
