Bayhaqi 18057 — Prohibition of tying up a captured disbeliever to use

Sa'id bin Jubayr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) went out on one of the roads of Madinah and saw some boys who had tied up a hen and were shooting at it. When the boys saw Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), they ran away. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) became angry and asked: Who did this? For the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) "cursed the one who mutilates an animal."
