Thabit narrates from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that eighty men of Makkah came down from the mountain of Tan'im at the time of the Fajr prayer, intending to attack the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) seized them and forgave them. The Qur'an was revealed: "And it is He who restrained their hands from you and your hands from them in the valley of Makkah, after He had given you victory over them." [Surah al-Fath: 24]
