Abu Hazim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about the wound of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he received at Uhud. He said: His (peace and blessings be upon him) face was wounded, his (peace and blessings be upon him) incisor teeth were broken, and the helmet was broken on his (peace and blessings be upon him) head. Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) was washing away his (peace and blessings be upon him) blood, and Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was pouring water from a shield. When the bleeding did not stop, Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) burned a piece of a mat and applied its ashes to the wound, and the bleeding stopped.
