وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو عَمْرٍو عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ السَّمَّاكِ، ثنا حَنْبَلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، فَذَكَرَهُ بِإِسْنَادِهِ وَمَعْنَاهُ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " يَعُودُنِي وَأَنَا مَرِيضٌ بِمَكَّةَ، وَهُوَ يَكْرَهُ أَنْ يَمُوتَ بِالْأَرْضِ الَّتِي هَاجَرَ مِنْهَا، فَقَالَ: يَرْحَمُكَ اللهُ ابْنَ عَفْرَاءَ " ثُمَّ ذَكَرَهُ. رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ أَبِي نُعَيْمٍ، وَأَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ.
The aforementioned hadith was narrated with the same chain and the same meaning, except with these additional words: I was ill in Makkah and he (peace and blessings be upon him) came to visit me, and he (Sa'd) disliked that his death should occur in the same land from which he had emigrated. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Ibn Afra'! May Allah have mercy on you." Then he narrated the whole hadith.
