Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: When the nabidh of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) became thick, I would add raisins to it, and they would take away its sourness. The Shaykh said: The nabidh of Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) and of the other Companions was also of this kind. Do you not see that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) declared al-tila' (thickened cooked juice) permissible once its intoxication, its harm and Satan's share in it had gone?
