Abdullah bin al-Daylami (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: We came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), you know who we are and where we are from; to whom have we come?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "To Allah and His Messenger." We said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), we have grapes; what should we do with them?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Make raisins of them." We said: "What should we do with the raisins?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Prepare nabidh in the morning and drink it in the evening, and prepare it in the evening and drink it in the morning; and prepare nabidh in small vessels, do not prepare it in large jars, for if it is left beyond its time it will turn into vinegar."
