Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that some people came to him and asked about nabidh, so he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went on a journey. When he returned, his (peace and blessings be upon him) Companions had prepared nabidh for themselves in tar-coated vessels, green jars and gourd vessels, so on his (peace and blessings be upon him) order it was poured out. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) asked for a waterskin, and water and raisins were put in it. It would be prepared as nabidh for him (peace and blessings be upon him) at night; in the morning he would drink it that day, the following night and the next day until evening. When evening came he would drink from it himself and give others to drink, and if anything of it remained the next morning he would order it poured out.
