Bayhaqi 17412 — The argument of those who permitted an intoxicant
فَقَدْ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْجِرَاحِيُّ بِمَرْوٍ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ شَاسَوَيْهِ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْكَرِيمِ السُّكَّرِيُّ، ثنا وَهْبُ بْنُ زَمْعَةَ، أنبأ سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ الْمُبَارَكِ عَنْ حَدِيثِ جَرِيرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ: تُحَرَّمُ الشَّرْبَةُ الَّتِي تُسْكِرُكَ، فَقَالَ: هَذَا بَاطِلٌ.
Abdullah bin al-Mubarak (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The previous narration of Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) is false (batil).
