Bayhaqi 17402 — The argument of those who permitted an intoxicant

Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) said concerning this verse, "And from the fruits of the date-palms and the grapevines you take intoxicant and good provision" [Surah al-Nahl: 67]: "Intoxicant" (sakar) means wine before it was made unlawful, and "good provision" means its food.
