أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُقْرِيُّ، أَنْبَأَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، ثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْقَاضِي، ثَنَا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ، ثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، ثَنَا الْمُعَلَّى بْنُ زِيَادٍ، وَهِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ ضَبَّةَ بْنِ مِحْصَنٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِنَّهَا " سَتَكُونُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَئِمَّةٌ تَعْرِفُونَ مِنْهُمْ وَتُنْكِرُونَ، فَمَنْ أَنْكَرَ قَالَ هِشَامٌ: بِلِسَانِهِ فَقَدْ بَرِئَ، وَمَنْ كَرِهَ بِقَلْبِهِ فَقَدْ سَلِمَ، لَكِنْ مَنْ رَضِيَ وَتَابَعَ "، قَالَ: قِيلَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَفَلَا نَقْتُلُهُمْ؟ قَالَ: " لَا، مَا صَلُّوا " رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَذْكُرْ بِلِسَانِهِ، وَلَا بِقَلْبِهِ، وَإِنَّمَا هُوَ قَوْلُ الْحَسَنِ..
Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) says that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon there will come leaders (rulers) some of whose deeds you will recognise (as good) and some of which you will reject. Hisham said: Whoever rejects (them) with his tongue is free (of blame), and whoever dislikes (them) in his heart remains safe; but (as for) whoever is pleased and follows them." It was asked: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Should we not fight them? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No, as long as they keep praying."
