أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ، أَنْبَأَ أَبُو عُثْمَانَ عَمْرُو بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْبَصْرِيُّ، أبَنَأ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ، أَنْبَأَ يَعْلَى بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، قَالَ: ذُكِرَتِ الطِّيَرَةُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: " أَحْسَنُهَا الْفَالُ، وَلَا تَرُدَّ مُسْلِمًا، فَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ مِنَ الطِّيَرَةِ مَا تَكْرَهُ فَقُلْ: اللهُمَّ لَا يَأْتِي بِالْحَسَنَاتِ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، وَلَا يَدْفَعُ السَّيِّئَاتِ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِكَ ".
Urwah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Evil omens were mentioned in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: "The good omen (fal) is the best of it, and it does not turn a Muslim back (from his purpose). When you see something from evil omens that you dislike, say: 'Allahumma la ya'ti bil-hasanati illa anta, wa la yadfa'u al-sayyi'ati illa anta, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa bik' (O Allah, none brings good things except You, and none averts evil things except You, and there is no power (to avoid sins) and no strength (to do good) except through Your help)."
