أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيُّ، وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، قَالَا: قَالَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ الدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ الْحَافِظُ: أَخْطَأَ فِيهِ ابْنَا أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَخَالَفَهُمَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ وَغَيْرُهُ، فَرَوَوْهُ عَنِ ابْنِ عُلَيَّةَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو مُرْسَلًا، وَكَذَلِكَ قَالَ أَصْحَابُ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْهُ، وَهُوَ الْمَحْفُوظُ مُرْسَلًا.
Imam al-Daraqutni (may Allah have mercy on him) said: In the previous narration the two sons of Abu Shaybah made a mistake, and Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him) contradicted them both; he narrated it as mursal through Ibn Ulayyah, from Ayyub, from Amr. Likewise did Amr bin Dinar (may Allah have mercy on him) and his companions, and what is mahfuz (preserved) is also that it is mursal.
