كَمَا أَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ حَلِيمٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، أنا أَبُو الْمُوَجَّهِ ثنا عَبْدَانُ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ نَافِعٍ عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ أَبِي سَهْلٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَتْنِي مُسَّةُ الْأَزْدِيَّةُ، قَالَتْ: حَجَجْتُ فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ فَقُلْتُ: يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِنَّ سَمُرَةَ بْنَ جُنْدُبٍ يَأْمُرُ النِّسَاءَ يَقْضِينَ صَلَاةَ الْحَيْضِ فَقَالَتْ: " لَا يَقْضِينَ، كَانَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ مِنْ نِسَاءِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَقْعُدُ فِي النِّفَاسِ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً لَا يَأْمُرُهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِقَضَاءِ صَلَاةِ النِّفَاسِ ".
Mussah al-Azdiyyah said: I performed Hajj and then went to Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her). I said: O Mother of the Believers, Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) orders women to make up the prayers of menstruation. She said: They are not to make them up. One of the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would sit in nifas for forty nights, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not order her to make up the prayers of nifas.
