Bayhaqi 1605 — A woman who menstruates one day and is pure the next

(a) Anas bin Sirin said: A woman from the family of Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) had istihadah, and they ordered me to ask Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) about it. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: When she sees flowing blood, she should not pray; and when she sees purity, even if only for an hour of the day, she should perform ghusl and pray. (b) I read in the book of Ibn Khuzaymah (may Allah have mercy on him) (with this chain): Ziyad bin Ayyub, from Isma'il bin Ulayyah, from Khalid al-Hadhdha', from Anas bin Sirin: If she sees flowing blood, she should not pray.
