وَفِيمَا أَجَازَ لِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ رِوَايَتِهِ عَنْهُ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَصَمِّ، أنبأ الرَّبِيعُ، أنبأ الشَّافِعِيُّ، أنبأ عَبْدُ الْمَجِيدِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ: اسْتُشْهِدَ رِجَالٌ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ فَآمَ نِسَاؤُهُمْ وَكُنَّ مُتَجَاوِرَاتٍ فِي دَارٍ فَجِئْنَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْنَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا نَسْتَوْحِشُ بِاللَّيْلِ فَنَبِيتُ عِنْدَ إِحْدَانَا فَإِذَا أَصْبَحْنَا تَبَدَّرْنَا إِلَى بُيُوتِنَا، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " تَحَدَّثْنَ عِنْدَ إِحْدَاكُنَّ مَا بَدَا لَكُنَّ فَإِذَا أَرَدْتُنَّ النَّوْمَ فَلْتَؤُبْ كُلُّ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْكُنَّ إِلَى بَيْتِهَا ".
It is narrated from Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) that on the day of Uhud a number of men were martyred and their wives were widowed, and they (the women) were neighbours in one compound. They came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, we feel lonely at night, so we spend the night with one of us; then when morning comes we hurry back to our houses." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Talk together at the house of one of you as long as you like; then when you want to sleep, let each one of you return to her own house."
