أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْأَرْدَسْتَانِيُّ أنا أَبُو نَصْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو نا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ، نا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، نا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، نا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ حَمَّادٍ، وَالْأَعْمَشِ، وَمَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، أَنَّهُ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ تَطْلِيقَةً أَوْ تَطْلِيقَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ حَاضَتْ حَيْضَةً أَوْ حَيْضَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ ارْتَفَعَ حَيْضُهَا سَبْعَةَ عَشَرَ شَهْرًا أَوْ ثَمَانِيَةَ عَشَرَ شَهْرًا ثُمَّ مَاتَتْ فَجَاءَ إِلَى ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ فَسَأَلَهُ فَقَالَ: " حَبَسَ اللهُ عَلَيْكَ مِيرَاثَهَا فَوَرَّثَهُ مِنْهَا ".
It is narrated from Alqamah bin Qays (may Allah have mercy on him) that he divorced his wife once or twice; then she menstruated once or twice, then her menstruation stopped for seventeen or eighteen months, then she died. He came to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) and asked him, and he said: Allah has kept her inheritance held for you. And he made him her heir.
