أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي قَالَا: نا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، نا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، نا عَبْدَةُ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: كُنَّا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ لَيْلَةَ جُمُعَةٍ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: لَوْ أَنَّ رَجُلًا وَجَدَ مَعَ امْرَأَتِهِ رَجُلًا فَقَتَلَهُ قَتَلْتُمُوهُ، وَإِنْ تَكَلَّمَ جَلَدْتُمُوهُ، لَأَذْكُرَنَّ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَذَكَرَهُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ تَعَالَى آيَاتِ اللِّعَانِ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ الرَّجُلُ فَقَذَفَ امْرَأَتَهُ، فَلَاعَنَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَهُمَا وَقَالَ: " لَعَلَّهَا أَنْ تَجِيءَ بِهِ أَسْوَدَ جَعْدًا " قَالَ: فَجَاءَتْ بِهِ أَسْوَدَ جَعْدًا رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ عَنْ عَبْدَةَ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ.
Alqamah narrates from Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that we were in the mosque on the night of Friday when a man said: If a man finds another man with his wife and kills him, you will kill him in retaliation; and if he speaks, you will flog him. I will mention this before the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). After he mentioned it, Allah revealed the verses of li'an. Then that man accused his wife, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had the two of them perform li'an and said: "Perhaps she will give birth to a jet-black child." The narrator said: She gave birth to a jet-black child.
