أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، نا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ أنا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، أنا الشَّافِعِيُّ قَالَ: وَإِنَّمَا أَمَرْتُ بِوَقْفِهِمَا وَتَذْكِيرِهِمَا أَنَّ سُفْيَانَ أنا، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَمَرَ رَجُلًا لَاعَنَ بَيْنَ الْمُتَلَاعِنَيْنِ أَنْ يَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَى فِيهِ عِنْدَ الْخَامِسَةِ وَقَالَ: إِنَّهَا مُوجِبَةٌ " وَاللهُ سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى أَعْلَمُ.
Asim bin Kulayb narrates from his father, and he from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded the man conducting the li'an to place his hand over the mouth of the one performing li'an at the fifth oath, and to say: "This (oath) makes the punishment binding."
