أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، أَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْحَافِظُ، َنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ⦗٦٢٢⦘ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ، نا الْمَيْمُونِيُّ قَالَ: ذَكَرْتُ لِأَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ حَدِيثَ عَطَاءٍ الْخُرَاسَانِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ، فَقَالَ لَا أَدْرِي مَا هُوَ رُوِيَ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ خِلَافُهُ قِيلَ لَهُ: مَنْ رَوَاهُ؟ قَالَ: حَبِيبُ بْنُ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ يُوقَفُ.
Al-Maymuni said: I mentioned to Ahmad bin Hanbal (may Allah have mercy on him) the hadith of Ata' al-Khurasani from Abu Salamah from Uthman, and he said: I do not know what it is; the opposite of it has been narrated from Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him). It was said to him: Who narrated that? He said: Habib bin Abi Thabit, from Tawus, from Uthman: he is to be made to stand.
