أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الْمِهْرَجَانِيُّ، أنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْمُزَكِّي نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، نا ابْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، نا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَنَّهَا خَطَبَتْ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ قُرَيْبَةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ فَزَوَّجُوهُ ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ عَتَبُوا عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ فَقَالُوا: مَا زَوَّجَنَا إِلَّا عَائِشَةُ فَأَرْسَلَتْ عَائِشَةُ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا إِلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ فَذَكَرَتْ ذَلِكَ لَهُ، فَجَعَلَ أَمْرَ قُرَيْبَةَ بِيَدِ قُرَيْبَةَ فَاخْتَارَتْ زَوْجَهَا فَلَمْ يَكُنْ ذَلِكَ طَلَاقًا ".
Abd al-Rahman bin al-Qasim (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father that Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) proposed Quraybah bint Abi Umayyah in marriage for Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with them both), and they married her to him. Then they reproached Abd al-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him), saying: We only arranged the marriage at the word of Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her). So Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) sent a message to Abd al-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him) and mentioned this, and Abd al-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him) placed Quraybah's affair in her own hands. Quraybah chose her husband, and that was not a divorce.
