أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، نا أَبُو عَمْرٍو عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ السَّمَّاكِ بِبَغْدَادَ أنا حَنْبَلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، نا مَسْلَمَةُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْأَحْمَسِيُّ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِجَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ: إِنَّ قَوْمًا يَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّ " مَنْ طَلَّقَ ثَلَاثًا بِجَهَالَةٍ رُدَّ إِلَى السُّنَّةِ يَجْعَلُونَهَا وَاحِدَةً "، يَرْوُونَهَا عَنْكُمْ قَالَ: مَعَاذَ اللهِ مَا هَذَا مِنْ قَوْلِنِا " مَنْ طَلَّقَ ثَلَاثًا فَهُوَ كَمَا قَالَ ".
Maslamah bin Ja'far al-Ahmasi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I said to Ja'far bin Muhammad (may Allah have mercy on him): People claim that whoever gives three divorces out of ignorance is to be returned to the Sunnah, that is, they count it as one divorce, and they narrate this from you.
He said: 'Ma'adh Allah' (Allah forbid)! This is not our view: whoever gives three divorces, it is just as he said.
