Miqsam (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) about a man who said to his wife: When Ramadan comes, you are divorced three times, while six months remained before the arrival of Ramadan; and he regretted it. Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: He should give his wife one divorce before Ramadan comes, so that her waiting period (iddah) is completed, and after Ramadan has passed he may marry her if he wishes.
(b) Al-Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) said about a man who said to his wife: If he speaks to his brother, she is divorced three times: if he wishes, he may give his wife one divorce and leave her until her waiting period ends; when she has become separated (from him), he may speak to his brother, and after that he may marry his wife if he wishes.
