أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا: نا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ نا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ الْحَارِثِيُّ، نا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَيَصْلُحُ لِي أَنْ أَقُولَ أَعْطَانِي زَوْجِي وَلَمْ يُعْطِنِي إِنَّ عَلَيَّ ضَرَّةٌ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " الْمُتَشَبِّعُ بِمَا لَمْ يُعْطَ كَلَابِسِ ثَوْبَيْ زُورٍ " رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ عَنْ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ، وَأَخْرَجَهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ، وَمُسْلِمٌ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ عَنْ هِشَامٍ.
Sayyidah Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) says that a woman came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: I have a co-wife; is it right for me to say that my husband has given me such-and-such, when he has not given me anything? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Making a display of what one has not been given is like wearing two garments of falsehood."
