أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، أنا أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ، نا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزَّعْفَرَانِيُّ، نا رِبْعِيُّ بْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، نا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ: قَالَ صَفْوَانُ بْنُ أُمَيَّةَ رَآنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا آخُذُ اللَّحْمَ عَنِ الْعَظْمِ بِيَدِيَّ فَقَالَ لِي: " يَا صَفْوَانُ " قُلْتُ: لَبَّيْكَ قَالَ: " قَرِّبِ اللَّحْمَ مِنْ فِيكَ إِنَّهُ أَهْنَأُ وَأَمْرَأُ ".
Uthman bin Abi Sulayman said that Safwan bin Umayyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw me taking the meat off the bone with my hand, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Safwan!" I said: "O Messenger of Allah! At your service." He said: "Bring the meat close to your mouth, for it is more wholesome and more pleasant."
