Iyas bin Salamah bin al-Akwa' narrates from his father (Sayyiduna Salamah bin al-Akwa' (may Allah be pleased with him)) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw Bishr bin Ra'i al-'Ir eating with his left hand. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Eat with your right hand." He said: "I cannot." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May you not be able to." After that his hand never reached his mouth.
(b) In the narration of al-Sulami: his (right) hand never reached (his mouth).
(c) In Sahih Muslim, through another chain, Ikrimah (may Allah have mercy on him) relates that it was only pride that prevented him.
