أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ، ثنا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَنَّ عَلْقَمَةَ قَالَ: " الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ عُقْدَةُ النِّكَاحِ الْوَلِيُّ " قَالَ شُرَيْحٌ: " الزَّوْجُ ".
Ibrahim narrated from Alqamah (may Allah have mercy on him): "The one in whose hand is the marriage tie" [Surah al-Baqarah: 237] means the guardian. Qadi Shurayh (may Allah have mercy on him) said: It means the husband.
