أَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " مَنْ غَسَّلَ مَيِّتًا فَلْيَغْتَسِلْ وَمَنْ حَمَلَ مَيِّتًا فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ وَمَنْ مَشَى مَعَهَا فَلَا يَجْلِسْ حَتَّى يُقْضَى دَفْنُهَا " قَالَ الشَّيْخُ: هَذَا هُوَ الصَّحِيحُ مَوْقُوفًا عَلَى أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ كَمَا أَشَارَ إِلَيْهِ الْبُخَارِيُّ، وَقَدْ رُوِيَ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ مَرْفُوعًا.
(a) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him): "Whoever washes a dead person, let him take a bath; whoever carries a dead person, let him perform ablution; and whoever walks with it (the funeral), let him not sit until it has been buried." (b) The Shaykh said: This report is authentically established as mawquf from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), as Imam Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) also indicated. The same report has also been narrated as marfu' through another chain.
