Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We used to practise 'azl (withdrawal) while the Qur'an was being revealed.
(b) Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We used to practise 'azl in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and Abu al-Zubayr added from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him): This reached the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) did not forbid us.
