أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ، أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ، ثنا الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ يَعْنِي الْعَبَّاسَ بْنَ الْفَضْلِ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَاءَهُ أَعْرَابِيٌّ فَقَالَ: إِنَّ امْرَأَتِي وَلَدَتْ غُلَامًا أَسْوَدَ، فَقَالَ: " هَلْ تَكُونُ لَكَ مِنْ إِبِلٍ؟ " قَالَ: نَعَمْ قَالَ: " مَا أَلْوَانُهَا؟ " قَالَ: حُمْرٌ قَالَ: " هَلْ فِيهَا أَوْرَقُ؟ " قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: " بِمَ ذَاكَ؟ " قَالَ: ذَاكَ عِرْقٌ نَزَعَهُ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " فَلَعَلَّ ابْنَكَ نَزَعَهُ عِرْقٌ "، رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ وَغَيْرِهِ، وَأَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A Bedouin came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: My wife has given birth to a black child. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Do you have camels?" He said: Yes. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What are their colours?" He said: Red. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Is there an ash-coloured one among them?" He said: Yes. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why is that?" He said: Perhaps some strain (of ancestry) drew it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perhaps some strain drew him too."
