Bayhaqi 14181 — Temporary marriage (mut'ah)
وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، أنبأ عَلِيُّ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي دَاوُدَ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، ثنا ابْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ إِيَاسِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْمُتْعَةِ " قَالَ: وَإِنَّمَا كَانَتْ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ، فَلَمَّا أُنْزِلَ النِّكَاحُ وَالطَّلَاقُ وَالْعِدَّةُ وَالْمِيرَاثُ بَيْنَ الزَّوْجِ وَالْمَرْأَةِ نُسِخَتْ ".
Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) "forbade mut'ah (temporary marriage). It was only for one who could not find (the means of) marriage, but when marriage, divorce, the waiting period ('iddah) and inheritance between husband and wife came, it abrogated the mut'ah marriage."
