Salim narrates from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Ghaylan bin Salamah al-Thaqafi accepted Islam while he had nine wives, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Choose four of them."
(b) Sirar bin Mujashshir said that Ghaylan bin Salamah al-Thaqafi accepted Islam while he had ten wives, who accepted Islam along with him. Ibn Najiyah added in his narration that in the time of Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) he divorced his wives and divided his wealth, so Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: You will take back your wealth and your wives, or I will stone your grave as the grave of Abu Righal was stoned.
Abu Ali (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Only Sirar bin Mujashshir narrated it, and he is a Basran and thiqah (trustworthy).
