أَنْبَأَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ، ثنا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، ثنا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ، ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، وَسُئِلَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ وَطِئَ أُمَّ امْرَأَتِهِ قَالَ: قَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ: " لَا يُحَرِّمُ الْحَرَامُ الْحَلَالَ ".
Uqayl narrates from Ibn Shihab that he was asked about a man who had committed zina with his wife's mother, and he said that Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The unlawful does not make anything of the lawful unlawful."
