(a) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Imarah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed in our house. I said: O Messenger of Allah, may I too wipe over leather socks? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes." I asked: For one day? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Two days." I said: Two days? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Three days." I said: O Messenger of Allah, three days? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, whatever suits you."
(b) Amr bin al-Rabi' narrated it from Yahya bin Ayyub with this same chain without mentioning Ubadah bin Nusayy, and he said that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, and as much as you wish."
