أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بِشْرَانَ بِبَغْدَادَ، أنبأ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّفَّارُ، ثنا سَعْدَانُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ فَقِيلَ لِسُفْيَانَ: هُوَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَعَلَّهُ قَالَ: " لَا تَصْلُحُ الصَّدَقَةُ لِغَنِيٍّ وَلَا لِذِي مِرَّةٍ سَوِيٍّ "، وَرَوَاهُ الْحُمَيْدِيُّ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بِإِسْنَادِهِ، وَقَالَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ يَبْلُغُ بِهِ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Sadaqah is not lawful for one who is rich, nor for one who is healthy and able to earn."
Sufyan was asked: Is it from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? He said: Perhaps. Al-Humaydi narrated it from Sufyan with his chain and said: From Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who attributed it (to the Prophet).
